Areg Navasardyan studies violin with Professor Boris Kuschnir at the precollege division of The Graz University of Music and Performing Arts since October 2015. Areg was born on 22.10.1999 in Yerevan, Armenia. He began to study violin when he was 6 years old at the Yerevan Tchaikovsky Specialized School of Music under Gagik Smbatyan, Professor and Head of Strings Department at the Yerevan State Conservatory. As a participant of Harmonium, Armenian State Target Program for Young, Talented Musicians, he studied chamber music with acclaimed pianist Armen Babakhanian. Areg became a semifinalist of Premio Paganini International Competition, April 2018. He won second place in New York International Artists Competition 2014 (no first prize awarded); first place and best performance in American Protégé International Competition 2013. In 2012 Areg participated in Yuri Bashmet’s Children’s Music Academy in Samara, Russia where he received masterclasses from Alexander Trostiansky, Professor at the Moscow State Conservatory and played at the prestigious closing ceremony in Samara Academic Opera House. In August 2014 Areg participated in Crans-Montana Classics Violin Masterclasses, Switzerland organized by Shlomo Mintz and performed in concerts in Crans Montana. In October 2015 Areg participated in Lac Leman Masterclasses, Switzerland and played in concerts at Vevey and Geneve Conservatory. Areg has received masterclasses and private classes from Boris Kuschnir, Shlomo Mintz, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, David Cerone, Zakhar Bron, Victor Danchenko. He has participated in various concerts and festivals in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, and the USA, including in Carnegie Weill Hall and Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, concerts organized by UNESCO, and solo performances. Areg has performed with Kiev Soloists under the baton of maestro Shlomo Mintz, with the National Chamber Music Orchestra of Armenia under the baton of Vahan Mardirossyan, with the Michelangelo string quartet, and performs regularly in chamber music ensembles.
